The leatherettes often have a textile base. Therefore, if you look carefully at the stitches and see a textile base or single threads sticking out – these bags are made from artificial leather.

If you bring a lighted match to natural leather, you will not see even a smouldering, in contrast to the leaherettes that usually start to melt.

Just be careful - not all leathers can withstand long open flame.
